Ecochip Review: Does it work? Or Is Ecochip a scam?

As the title mentioned above; here we write about ecochip fuel saver reviews. Before that first of all let us discuss, what ecochip is and how it works?

What is Ecochip? How does it Work?

As Ecochip company claims, Ecochip is a fuel saver device that claims to save fuel. EcoChip is a chip tuning box that can be plugged into OBD2 connector of your car to reduce fuel consumption. It works based on OBD2 protocols as remapping the Car’s computer ECU. When it is plugged into the OBD2 plug; ecochip receives the information from the car computer ECU. With the data from ECU, ecochip adjusts the boost pressure, the quantity of fuel, injection timing, and pressure to increase the performance of your car.

The company also claims that

• Ecochip Increase Your Vehicle’s Horsepower & Torque.
• Lower fuel consumption yields lower CO2 emissions which helps fight climate change.
• Reduce fuel consumption by 15% to 30%.

Is there any other technology like this?

Yes, Fuel saver devices like ecochip are nothing new. Devices like Ecochip are known as fuel saver plug-ins. They are sold under different names and have different websites.

Does Ecochip work? Or Is Ecochip a scam?

We will answer with points-

Point 1. The company claims it will work after connecting it (Ecochip) with the car`s OBD2 Port.

Counter:

An OBD2 port is simply a space uniquely designed to connect the OBD reader to it. OBD stands for “on-board diagnostics”. OBD 2 reader is a pocket-sized electronic device that can access the data (OBD has been diagnosed) and help you see a car’s overall health status.

Hence we can say from above that OBD 2 port is used by mechanics to know your car’s condition not made for plugins like Ecochip.

Point 2. The company also claims Ecochip, receives the information from the car computer ECU. With the data from ECU, ecochip adjusts the boost pressure, the quantity of fuel, injection timing, and pressure to increase the performance of your car.

Counter:  ECU (electronic control unit) used in today’s cars and trucks is used to control the engine and other components’ functions. There is no connection between ecochip and car ECU. Therefore if ecochip has no connection with ECU it cannot adjust fuel quantity, injection timing, and pressure   

Ecochip Review:-

After countering all points we can say that Ecochip is pretty much a scam nothing else. It is just a light emitter, programmed to emit a sequence of led lights. We can say that it is a total waste of money.
